Batman Arkham Asylum Goes 3-D

A short but cool story here. Games are starting to follow movies into the world of 3-D, and aside from Avatar, which really wasn’t as good as people expected (the movie or the game … ooooh edgy!) Batman Arkham Asylum, game of the year nominee, will be leading the way.

The Batman Arkham Asylum Game of the Year edition, previously announced for European territories only will now be coming to America. This edition will use TriOviz 3D technology, to allow the player to play the game in full 3-D stereoscopic vision. Unlike past 3-D titles, this title will be compatible with every standard and high definition television. So you won’t have to spring for a fancy TV to get the 3-D experience, although you may have to spring for fancy glasses.

The Game of the Year Edition will also include all of the challenge maps that were previously released as downloadable content. It is scheduled for release in Europe and Australia on March 26th. No US release date has been given, and final details on any other options exclusive to this edition have not been released. Pricing details have not been announced, but gamers can probably expect something hovering around the 50 dollar price mark, give or take.
