Takashi Shimizu, director for The Grudge and Ju-On, will be helming an untitled thriller to be financed by Phoenix Pictures. The script, penned by Chris Philpott, is about a haunted tune that slowly drives those who listen to it to suicide. That tune? Surfin’ Bird by The Trashmen. [Variety]
