Bush Administration Officials Believed Harry Potter Promoted Witchcraft

So apparently, some time ago, J.K. Rowling was nominated for a Presidential Medal of Freedom. Now, personally, we don’t think that the Presidential Medal of Freedom should go to someone who wrote a horribly overrated children’s book series, and neither did the Bush administration. However, while we simply thought that the stories were over-hyped, the Bush administration thought that Harry Potter actually promoted witchcraft! This is all in Matt Latimer’s new book, Speech-Less: Tales of a White House Survivor, and honestly, it’s crazy. We only sold our souls to the devil once or twice after we read Harry Potter, and for totally unrelated reasons! [Think Progress]
