Chris Pine (Star Trek) is in negotiations with Paramount to play Jack Ryan, a CIA agent and key recurring character in the upcoming reboot of the movies based on Tom Clancy’s novels. The novels include The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, and The Sum of All Fears. While in the past Ryan was portrayed by several different actors including Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affleck, rumor has it that Pine would be constant throughout all new adaptations of Tom Clancy’s novels.
