China Bans 2-D Avatar

Avatar in 3-D was a marvel of technology that astounded us and filled us with wonder for the world of future movies and movie making technology. Avatar in 2-D is Ferngully in space. China seems to agree. They have pulled all showings of Avatar from conventional 2-D theaters, but have allowed it to keep playing in 3-D locations. This means that 2-D Avatar wasn’t banned due to political or religious reasons, as you might have expected. Nope, it was banned because it sucks without the 3-D specs. [Cinemablend]
