First, let me start off this article by saying that I am certainly not stalking Felicia Day. It’s not like I have posters of her hung up all over my walls and it’s certainly not the case that I have a shrine to her in my closet. That being said, holy hell Felicia Day is awesome! She is geeky and sweet and has this awesome personality and she is a red head and she is going to be starring in a new SyFy original movie! Oh, right, that’s what this article is about … Felicia Day is starring in a new SyFy original movie This article is certainly not about how in love I am with Felicia Day (call me!!!)

In all seriousness though, this movie sounds like it is going to kick ten pounds of ass. The movie will be called Red and will be a sort of screwed up retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. Considering that the fairy tale is already pretty fucked up as it is, adding this star of Dr. Horrible and The Guild to the mix is only going to make it better.

Day will play Red, the titular character who is a descendant of the great Little Red Riding Hood. Her entire family line has been in the business of hunting werewolves for some time. Red brings home her fiance to meet the family, where he is told of their werewolf hunting exploits. Of course he doesn’t believe them, that is, until he is bitten by a werewolf himself and Red is forced to choose between her boy toy and her family.

How can this be anything other than pure A grade awesome? Day is famous for being portrayed as the awkward shy girl in geeky films. She is perfect for being in a film that is part werewolf hunting action movie, part meet the parents romantic comedy. Red will actually be the second in a series of SyFy fairy tale remakes. The first was Beauty and the Beasts: A Dark Tale starring Estella Warren which released February 27th this year. Red is planned to release around the same time, sometime in 2011. In addition to these two movies, SyFy will also be producing movies that will remake the tales of Aladdin, Sinbad the Sailor, and Hansel & Gretel, among other as of yet unannounced projects. In addition to Felicia Day, Red will also star Kavan Smith (Stargate Atlantis) and Stephen McHattie (Watchmen). It will be produced by Angelo Mancuso. A director has not been announced.

So let’s recap quickly. An awesome movie is coming out as a SyFy original next year. It is a dark action romance remake of Little Red Riding Hood. It will star Felicia Day, and I have a piece of Felicia Day’s hair which I am trying to create my own personal army of Felicia Day clones from … I mean … shit … forget that last part!
