Fight Scenes — Compare and Contrast
Different TV shows and movies have very different conceptions of the way a fight would go down. Some choose to show a flashy, exciting melee where so many furious punches are landed that if the fight occurred in real life the fighters would probably be in a coma (see Rocky IV if you don’t know what I’m taking about). Others prefer to show a more realistic portrayal of a fight where the fighters get tired and sluggish after only throwing a couple punches. I’m not saying that either one of these depictions is any better than the other, but they definitely inspire different emotions in the audience. Watch the Never Back Down clip below and I guarantee you will be saying, “Oh…shit!” and “Fuck yea!!”. Watch the Deadwood clip and you probably won’t say anything because you will be so emotionally drained by the suspense and visceral feel of the fight. No matter which fight you prefer, you will definitely get your fill of ass-kick.
