Friday in Action — Spider-Man, Tron: Uprising and Megashark VS Crocosaurus
Spider-Man Casting
The latest casting news from Marc Webb’s Spider-Man Reboot will see Martin Sheen and Sally Field team up as Uncle Ben and Aunt May respectively. So here is how the current casting list has shaped up:
- Emma Stone … Gwen Stacy
- Andrew Garfield … Peter Parker / Spider-Man
- Rhys Ifans … Dr. Curt Connors / The Lizard
- Martin Sheen … Uncle Ben
- Sally Field … Aunt May
The longer the casting process lasts the more it seems that Rhys Ifans will be taking the role as hero/villain, Dr. Connors/The Lizard. Too bad we never got to see what Dylan Baker could do as The Lizard in his portrayal of Dr. Connors in the first three films.

Tron: Uprising
We’ve had to wait for what seems like an interminably long time for the premiere of Tron: Legacy. Now, with the film a little more than a month away it seems like we will finally get a sequel to our favorite black & white computer imaging composite film ever. But the Tron franchise dream is far from over! Disney will be releasing a 10-part micro series that will come to Disney XD next fall. That’s right, another year long wait. If that wait wasn’t long enough for you, get ready to hit the television snooze button for the full-on Tron television series Tron: Uprising, coming to the same XD Disney Channel in the Fall of 2012. So barring that the world doesn’t end before then we’ll have a brand new Tron. Tron: Uprising will star Elijah Wood as Beck, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Paige, Mandy Moore as Mara, Nate Corddry as Zed, Lance Henriksen as Tesler, Paul Reubens as Pavel, Reginald VelJohnson as Able and Bruce Boxleitner as the title character. The plot will follow Beck (Wood) and his journey in the Grid in which he leads a revolution. Sounds kind of Matrixey, hell it sounds like it will be The Matrix sequel that we all wanted.
The Way Back
Cool trailer! Staring Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris and Colin Farrell, The Way Back was directed by Peter Weir and I’ve heard he’s done some pretty good movies (Gallipoli, Dead Poets Society, The Mosquito Coast, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, and The Truman Show). The Way Back is a fact-based story centered on soldiers who escaped from a Siberian gulag in 1940.
Megashark VS Crocosaurus
This is happening. Whether you like it or not (and we’re sure you do) this is on! No matter who wins we lose! This December 21st, Christopher Ray, the director of the acclaimed 2008 film Reptisaurus brings you Megashark VS Crocosaurus.
