One of the famous aspects of Tony Stark’s character was his struggle with serious alcoholism. However, Iron Man 1 had no real reference to this issue, and Iron Man 2 seems to be more of the same. However, it turns out that Iron Man 2 will have quite the segue into Iron Man 3 which will apparently feature Tony’s alcoholism front and center. Why wait so long to address one of the most powerful aspects of the character? Well, some say that Robert Downey Jr’s past mirrors Tony Stark’s alcoholic past in some ways, and it might have hit a bit too close to home.
