In an interview with Faran Tahir (Raza from the first Iron Man) it was revealed that Favreau has his sights set on Iron Man’s greatest villain, The Mandarin. He wasn’t in the first movie, and most likely he won’t show up in the second, but he is certainly pegged to become part of the ongoing storyline. Does this mean we are already set for Iron Man 3?
