Kerry Williamson is writing the script for a new movie based on the Kay Scarpetta series of novels written by Patricia Cornwell. The movie will take place in Cornwell’s world and use her characters but will not actually be based on any novel in particular. Instead, the story will be totally independent of anything else that has happened in the Kay Scarpetta continuity. Hell, at least this means you can’t piss off purists by ruining canon.
