Mel Gibson will direct Leonardo DiCaprio in an as of yet untitled drama about viking culture. William Monahan, will be writing the script and shooting is expected to begin in fall 2010. Most people expect the film to follow in Gibson’s other works, such as Braveheart, Apocalypto, and The Passion of the Christ. However, the Vikings didn’t kill Jesus (or at least we hope not, we never know what things are like in the world of Mel Gibson.) Instead, they drank, and fought, and ate, and slept, and basically were rowdy violent hedonistic bastards … awesome! Let’s hope skinny old DiCaprio can fit the role. [Variety]
