Old Survival Story Gets Movie Treatment

Danny Boyle will direct a new film, 127 Hours, for Fox Searchlight. The film will be based on the story of mountaineer Aron Ralston. Who is Aron Ralston you ask? Well, remember back in middle school when you heard that story about the guy who cut off his own arm with a dull knife to survive in the wilderness? Yeah, that’s the guy. Simon Beaufoy is in talks to write the script, and Christian Colson will produce. Both will be required to amputate their own limbs before moving forward. Just kidding. [Variety]
