Spider-Man 4 has been fortunate enough to be an engine of hype, and lots of hype means lots of speculation. There have been rumors about The Lizard, The Vulture, Black Cat, and many other villains appearing in this next Spider-Man movie. However, the only one of these rumors that now has any confirmation attached to it is the rumor about The Vulture being played by John Malkovich. An Italian sports show interviewed Malkovich for … some reason, and when he was asked about his role of The Vulture, he not only confirmed it, he said he was waiting on a final script. He also confirmed reports that the movie had been delayed recently. Malkovich was actually one of the original choices for the role of The Green Goblin back in Spider-Man 1, but that role was taken over by Willem Dafoe. It makes sense that Raimi has been looking for a chance to get Malkovich into tights, and The Vulture seems like a perfect role for him. Now let’s hope that no other villains show up, lest we have a repeat of Spider-Man 3. [BadTaste]
