Michael and Peter Spierig will be penning a remake of a 1935 pirate film Captain Blood, which is about a doctor who gives up on his life to become a pirate on the high seas. The film is a tale of adventure and love, as Captain Blood fights against a French pirate rival who captures the woman he loves and taunts him with his superior ship and forces. It is a true classic as far as pirate movies go … so obviously the Spierig’s need to do it over again with spaceships and aliens. Ugh. [Variety]
