Ralph Fiennes’ Coriolanus Blog: Photos From The Set

Ninjas,
We’ve got two great (and exclusive) pictures to share with you from the first week’s battle scenes in the Serbian city, Pancevo. What strikes me most about these is seeing Ralph in such different roles – those of streetfighter and director – to those we are accustomed to seeing him in. The chaotic action, grainy quality and warm colours of the first image also reminded me of The Hurt Locker. Enjoy!
Coriolanus and His Men Engaging The Enemy:
Ralph (In Military Fatigues) Directing Alongside DoP, Barry Ackroyd (Black Flat Cap) and Focus Puller, Oliver Driscoll (Brown Flatcap)
Check in on Friday for the first set report.

great pics, slightly incongruous at first glance seeing ralph as modern warfare soldier. see what you mean about the hurt locker, i guess using barry ackroyd guarentees a certain gritty realist look. really looking forward to seeing this film, expecting the contemporary setting of the play to work perfectly
Wow, these are great pics from the set. I’m really excited about this movie. Ralph is a brilliant actor, and I can’t wait to see what he can accomplish as a director. I’m sure it’ll be amazing since he seems so passionate about it. I wish him the best of luck.
Thanks for the great photos…can’t wait for the set report! : )
Great pics! Thank you so much for sharing them! I am working in Coriolanus play also and I cannot wait to see this film!
Okay, I’m seeing the war and drama with tension abounding, but are they speaking Shakespeare? Really? Can’t wait for set reports either! This appears (by close examination–and as expected) to be a labor of love. Can’t wait to see Gerry appear in camouflage gear again. Ralph was amazing and SO unexpected in the Hurt Locker. I did a deep inhale seeing him in it! His part is well, well, never mind. See Hurt Locker!

It’s so cool to read updates as they film the movie. I can’t wait to read more updates and see pics with Gerry filming scenes. This is f**king brilliant.
You can tell by the Focus Puller that this movie is going to be really awesome.
I am totally stoked about this project. I cannot wait for its release though I know it will be some time from now. Sending all my love and support to Ralph.
Thanks for setting up this blog! It’s “entertaining” in and of itself as we watch the progress of the film play out! Stunning images thus far. Definitely adds to the intrigue.
Cheers!
