Director of Spartacus Speaks About Its Hardcore Look Into The Gladiatorial Age of Spartacus! We’re All Spartacus!
Spartacus: Blood and Sand is picking up popularity in recent days. At the very least, it is popular enough to be renewed for a second season! Now, have any of you seen Spartacus: Blood and Sand? No, no you haven’t, because the series hasn’t premiered yet. That’s right, Starz resigned a contract for a program that hasn’t debuted yet.
30 Ninjas talked to Rick Jacobson, the director of the pilot and episodes 2 and 6, about what we can expect from this series:
“This show is going to be bad-ass. It’s got lot of digital stuff, similar graphic flair of 300 with more in depth, human characters like Gladiator but in its own skin. Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert are the Executives Producers on it. It’s real cool, hardcore violence, hardcore sex, offering a real cool insight into the kind of raw brutal world of the gladiatorial age all wrapped up in the Spartacus legend.”
Now, I don’t get Starz right now but with a series like this, I might just have to order it. I spoke with Rick extensively about the sex and violence in his new movie, Bitch Slap, a B-movie tribute that’s all boobs, ass and explosions, so I know he’s real about how intense Spartacus: Blood and Sand is.
