Rob Zombie’s Halloween Replacement Has Been Found

Since the last thing that Rob Zombie wanted to do was to make the Halloween franchise reboot itself and continue into a long line of sucky sequels, he has stepped down from directing the third installment of the rebooted series. Instead, all eyes turn to Patrick Lussier who is apparently in talks to produce the next film, dubbed Halloween 3D. Appropriately enough, the movie will be in 3-D, but what about its plot? What will the movie be about? Probably something Rob Zombie does not approve of. [Variety]

Lussier directed this spring’s My Bloody Valentine’s 3-D reboot, which I would have given 2 1/2 stars out of 4. Although the 3-D scenes where really really good and a big hit at the theater where I saw it.
He sounds like a good safe choice to direct. Now, who will write the script?
