Comic book adaptations are the trend in Hollywood these days, with Scott Pilgrim vs. The World coming out in August and slew of superhero movies slated for the next few years. Now a new adaptation is on the horizon, with a director comic fans can get behind. Sam Raimi, director of the Evil Dead and Spider-Man movies, has signed on to direct Earp: Saints for Sinners. This is great news for fans of the comic, and bad news for Warcraft players; looks like the movie will be getting delayed again. Described as a Western set in the near-future (horses = motorcycles, guns = bigger guns, etc.), Earp reboots the legends of lawman Wyatt Earp and his nemesis, outlaw Jesse James. While the original comic may not be as well known as something like Spider-Man (It was after all only released a couple weeks ago), you can bet Raimi will do a beatiful camp-filled job with the source material. Raimi’s films have always been stellar (ignoring a certain dance-filled superhero flick), whether he’s telling a story of demons, spiders, or different demons. Now we just need to find out who Bruce Campbell’s playing…
