Sony Aquires He-Man
It has only been a short time after the whole He-Man movie idea died over at Warner Bros. and Sony has been quick to pick it up off the floor, dust it off, and give it another go. Warner Bros. stopped working on their new He-Man movie because they felt that there simply wasn’t enough fan support for the old character. Sony however, seems to think otherwise. Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will start developing the movie from scratch, effectively trashing any work the Warner Bros. did. John Stevenson was originally going to direct the WB adaptation, but is not associated with the new Sony project. Will this movie be a hit or is it another attempt to resurrect an old franchise that is doomed to fail. It’s probably doomed to fail now that we think about it, because Warner Bros. had a point; who the hell remembers He-Man? [Comingsoon.net]
