The MMA Video Game Race Heats Up
For a while, there was only one MMA video game on the market. It was UFC Undisputed, and despite its glitches and gameplay flaws it was a pretty good game. Of course, once people saw that there was some cash to be made from MMA video games, everyone wanted to get in on the deal. EA decided to counter THQ’s UFC Undisputed with their upcoming EA Sports MMA, which uses the Strikeforce banner to it’s fullest. Most of us thought that this is where the digital MMA wars would end, but it’s not over yet! A third competitor is entering the ring, hoping to compete with EA Sports MMA, and the soon to come UFC Undisputed 2.
505 Games and Kung Fu are teaming up to bring you Supremacy MMA, the newest entrant in the MMA race. Supposedly, Supremacy MMA is going to bring you the most realistic and brutal MMA experience available on the PS3 or Xbox 360. Why? Because it’s being done by the team that originally did UFC Undisputed that’s why. Apparently the teams switched hands last year, and this is where the developers went. There is something to be said for a development team that has had a chance to learn from their mistakes as opposed to a development team that is coming in fresh.
Supremacy MMA will be debuting at E3 this year, but only behind closed doors. We at 30ninjas will be banging on the 505 door hoping to get a preview and if we do, you guys will be the first ones to see all that Supremacy MMA has to offer. Until then, sit tight and stay tuned for the rest of our E3 coverage.
