King Kong is dead! Beauty killed the beast. Didn’t anyone tell Spirit Pictures this? Apparently not because they have just acquired the rights to Kong: King of Skull Island, a King Kong prequel of all things. Does anyone really want to see the story of how a giant gorilla became king? At least the monkey on dinosaur fights are bound to be cool. If anything redeems this movie it will be King Kong bitch slapping a T-Rex. [Variety]
