Will Disney Ditch Miramax?
Now that Dick Cook has left Disney, what will be the fate of Miramax, the studio that he strongly supported. Well the short story is, we don’t know, but that hasn’t stopped plenty of people from speculating on Miramax’s possible fate. Truth be told, there is no evidence whatsoever that Miramax might be ditched other than the fact that they haven’t been pulling in as much money as they usually do. Still, many fans and speculators think that Disney’s new aquisition of Marvel will make Miramax old hat. A Disney PR representative flatly denied that Miramax would be sold, but this just makes fans rag on about possible downsizing and other horrible outcomes. In the end, it appears as if fans aren’t content with things “just working out” so lets wait and see if this whole Miramax thing is as horrible as everyone says it is. [L.A. Times]
