James Cameron has decided to forgo the normal ruckus of trailers, press conferences, and general advertising for his new 3-D sci-fi epic Avatar. Instead, he decided to keep most of the details tight under wraps, and, except for a few painfully long press conferences, the general populace of fans had no information to tell them what the movie was about, or even whether it would be good or not. All they knew was that it was 3-D, it was sci-fi, and according to James Cameron, it was going to be pants wettingly awesome!

However, now that is all going to change. James Cameron is giving away, repeat, giving away tickets to see a full fifteen minute screening of Avatar, in select theaters on August 21st. The tickets will be given away exclusively via the official website, AvatarMovie.com, which will have full details on the promotion, including times, dates, theaters, and whether or not the whole “free” thing is true or just community buzz at noon today, Pacific time. For the record, that is 3 PM eastern, 2 PM central, and 1 PM mountain. Now you don’t have to do any of the math yourself.
