A Street Fighter Movie That Doesn’t Suck???

posted 05-04-10 by Angelo D'Argenio

We have suffered through far too many sucky video game movies. For some reason, the best games in existence always end up having the shittiest movies in theaters. Don’t believe me? OK, look at Street Fighter. This is one of the most successful fighting game franchises in the world. Hell, it practically created the fighting [...]

The Many Faces of Iron Man

posted 04-30-10 by Angelo D'Argenio

Iron Man 2 is coming out soon, so we get yet another opportunity to see Tony Stark kicking some major ass, drinking until he can’t stand, and generally having a hand in supplying his own super villains with weapons. Of course, to combat the bad guys (of which there are many in Iron Man 2) [...]

Chrono VS Marty McFly: Battle of the Top Time Travelers

To decide once and for all who is heir to the 30 Ninjas throne of destruction and mayhem, Angelo and Max are picking two comparable items each week (within the realms of video-games and movies) and duking it out for bragging rights. Got something you’d like to see on Versus? Let us know in the [...]

Avatar Back in Theaters and Into the Sea

posted 04-23-10 by Max Tedaldi

Let’s get one thing straight, Avatar made money. It made a lot of money. It made more money than any other film has ever made. But apparently it didn’t make enough money. “Enough” is of course a relative term, but Avatar faced a unique set of challenges with its nationwide IMAX 3-D release. Avatar was [...]

Deadliest Warrior Season 2 Premiere — Same Old Unscientific Fun

posted 04-21-10 by Angelo D'Argenio

Regardless of how unscientific the show is, it is still ridiculously entertaining, and as addictive as ever. The blood and gore that erupts through the testing of both ancient and modern weapons is still as satisfying and cringe-worthy as ever. In the sniper rifle test, one rifle round literally shattered the skull like an egg while simultaneously blowing the victim’s eye out the back of his head. Gross!

Doctor Who is a time lord, an alien adventurer who travels through time fighting evil when he encounters it. This evil is typically in the form of an alien race (an evil one) who wants to invade earth and annihilate the human race. For those of you who aren’t in the temporal loop, Doctor Who [...]

Halo Movie Still Happening

posted 04-09-10 by Angelo D'Argenio

I can’t believe that we are still looking forward to video game/movie crossovers. Haven’t we already learned that every movie-based game and every game-based movie is just going to suck? Apparently not. Neill Blomkamp and Peter Jackson both tried to get a Halo movie off the ground and failed. However, Microsoft themselves say that a [...]

Now that Chris Evans has finally been decided as the actor that will step into the shoes of Captain America, we can finally stop drooling over our own self made Captain American Idol and start looking to other comic book movies. For instance, The Avengers. We were so wrapped up in who was going to [...]

This was just too good to not post here. So, apparently these economic hard times are getting tough on us all. Even the big Hollywood directors aren’t exempt. Back in 2008 we got word that there may end up being a movie based on the HBO series Rome. We were big Rome fanboys back in the day, and by back in the day we mean a couple years ago when we watched it religiously. The idea of Rome getting its own movie, which [...]
