Now playing: Ninja Assassin — Trixter VFX Bladed Chain Weapons Breakdown
Lots of different companies produced lots of different visual effects for the martial arts picture Ninja Assassin<,/em> and it was Trixter that was responsible for rendering many of the cooler-than-real-life bladed chain weapons that we saw in the movie. Vfxblog, an awesome visual effects blog run by Aussie Ian Failes, pointed us toward this video, which shows us some visual effects that Trixter was responsible for, one by one. The fact that they can render individual weapons in a martial arts showdown at this speed is just awesome. Pretty soon, actors won’t even have to wear clothes in key scenes. They can fight butt-naked, and the clothes can be added in post! Rain is shirtless during most of this movie, so he is well on the way!
