Now playing: Star Wars Episode 7: Return of the Missing Scene
It’s amazing how much fans will freak out over anything new that George Lucas does. The truth is that it doesn’t even have to be new. Everyone went to go and see the original films when they were re-released back in the 90s, and everyone reluctantly purchased the remastered DVDs.
Well, fans have “new” George Lucas content to freak out over after Celebration V in Orlando, Fla, this past weekend. A newly released cut scene from Return of the Jedi shows Luke’s original introduction and the origin of his new lightsaber. It’s pretty cool and if nothing else it will make you feel nostalgic for the classic vibe of the original trilogy.
At this point I’m not sure why Lucas doesn’t release a film with all of the deleted content from all six movies. Can you honestly say that you wouldn’t pony up $20 to go and see it in IMAX 3D?
