Now playing: Splice Gets June Release Date
It’s just another story of boy meets girl … though the boy and girl in this case are horrid flesh slugs. Splice stars Sarah Polley and Adrien Brody as rebel biochemists (yep, apparently they do exist) who splice together human and animal DNA to create a new species. Splice was a Sundance Festival favorite this year and promises to be one of the more interesting horror flicks of the year. The director is Vincenzo Natali who has a record of rocking the festivals with his films but never really braking through to a broad audience with them. We’re keeping our fingers cross for Vincenzo that Splice goes big.

Why does a human plus an animal equal a shapeless slug? Should have just gone the Animorphs route and made it a half and half. But honestly, those slugs are terrifying.
