Conan in 360

At Comic-Con in San Diego, 30 Ninjas achieved a groundbreaking milestone with the Conan O’Brien show, introducing the first live-streamed VR broadcast on cable TV: Conan 360.

Utilizing four Nokia OZO cameras, we live-stitched and live-switched the footage, creating a seamless VR experience for viewers. Our team developed custom technology and implemented a precision workflow to record the VR stream in headsets and seamlessly integrate the footage into the live TV show. We delivered a color-graded, denoised, 360 feed with live graphics concurrently to cable television, VR headsets, and web platforms, maintaining a latency of less than 1 second and zero dropped frames across all cameras during 5 days of continuous streaming. Additionally, we provided highlight videos within an hour after each nightly wrap.
